There are two different types of inRide sensors that Kurt Kinetic makes. Please see below to find out if your inRide sensor will work with The SUF.
1st & 2nd Generation - Not Compatible With The Sufferfest Training System
Notice that the inRide sensor (the little box at the end of the arrow) is black in color. These transmit their data in a manner that The Sufferfest Training System is not able to decipher.
3rd Generation - Compatible With The Sufferfest Training System
Notice that the inRide sensor (the little box at the end of the arrow) is green in color. These transmit their data in a manner that The Sufferfest Training System can use for power and cadence data.
Not Compatible? There Is Still A Way... Virtual Watts!
It is never good news to find out that your sensor won't work with our app but there is another way. Don't worry though, if you have a speed sensor on your bike we can use that along with your Kurt Kinetic trainer to connect to The Sufferfest app using Virtual Watts.
Note: Virtual Watts will give you nearly the same data that the inRide sensor would. The Sufferfest app is just calculating your power numbers rather than the calculations happening inside of the inRide sensor itself.
Connections - Setting Up Your Sensor
- Start a workout in The Sufferfest app. Once the workout opens you will see the device connections menu. More on how this works in our Device Connections help article.
- Choose the Add Devices button.
- You should now see your InRide sensor listed in the list of available sensors. Select it to connect.
- Once your InRide is connected you will see the corresponding Power, Cadence, and Speed icons highlighted. Not sure about Virtual Speed? Here is a help article that. explains how it works.
