FULL FRONTAL TEST RESULT - FTP: POSTING THIS NUMBER TO TRAINING PEAKS ETC

Hi,

When you do Full Frontal Test, the FTP result can be understandably lower than when you do a simple 20 min test. (Hence for those tests, in Zwift say, we apply the 20minPOWER x 0.95 = FTP formula.)

My question is this: After doing FF, say you hit 280W for the 20minuteTT interval, do you recommend putting this value (280W) into Training Peaks, Strava, Garmin, etc as FTP?

  • Hey Bill,

    Yes, we recommend using the 20-minute power number that The Sufferfest App generates.  This is because the previous efforts in the test are doing the same thing physiologically that the 0.95 multiplier is doing in an FTP calculation....  I'm over-simplifying there ;)
