Sufferfest Roadmap

Hey all,

I've been suffering using this cool app for almost a year now and i like it.

with the new app launched couple months back things got improved  bit.

As a sufferlandrian customer,i would be interested to know what the company is thinking about doing to keep us entertained so we dont run away to zwift. basically what are your future plans ? what are you working on atm that we can expect in the next 6months and next year? what are your priorities ? i know mine. i know which 10weeks plans im attempting. how about you minions ?

e.g. a workout completion score that would tell you how well you've matched your planned power to executed if you're using trainer in non -erg mode (sending power from pedals while changing gears to adjust resistance needed)

e.g. external power source control over your trainer - rather than erg mode

e.g. android version of the main app

looking forward to hear from you minions

thanx

Arek

Hello Arek, Aaron here from The Sufferfest.

Some road map items we are willing to discuss and others we are not.  Yes, we have more ideas from our customers and minions than we possibly have time to build in the next three years.  However, here are some things I can share with you that we are working on for release within the next 6 months or earlier.

    1.  Android App.  Sufferlandrians are asking for it so we are going to build it.  It will be running as a Beta application that people can use for a bit before we finalize it.

    2.  AppleTV App. Sufferlandrians are asking for it so we are going to build it.  AppleTV isn't an easy one to build either. We have to look at the UX/UI part very carefully as we put an AppleTV app together.  It could be very easy to build an app here that doesn't work well.

    3.  Training Plans. Sufferlandrians are asking for it so we are going to build it.  Training plans won't be native in the app, but you will have a calendar and a training plans tab on your user account page within the web.  We will be displaying some things in the app as it relates to training plans.  Training plans will be a pillar of our application since we have the worlds best coaches working for us and want to take the training plan capability further than anyone has thought of doing.

There are many, many more items that we have planned out and stacked up in our backlog right now.  We will continue to push out exciting video and training content and even look to build more categories of training in the future.  Furthermore, since we are now owned by Wahoo Fitness LLC, we will be ensuring that everything we do will integrate seamlessly with all Wahoo Equipment products.  All of this will take some time, but we are working hard to provide the best product on the Market that provides Sufferlandrians real results outside on the bike or inside racing e-sports.

Android app will make it so much easier go make a yoga session! Great news and I can be both alpha and beta tester if you want.

  • What are your plans for adding to the yoga and strength training video/workout library. Can we get a few new ones? Thanks.

  • I really think you need to revisit point 3. Properly integrated training plans would be a massive boon.

  • It would be great if you could also add a Chrome OS app in addition to the android app.  Using Sufferfest on my Chromebook would be extremely convenient.

  • Looking forward the android version.  But really do like all the variety SF are implementing. Love the no videos training sessions and just did one of the GNC rides and it was great. Been a subscriber for about 1 year now and enjoying everything.  Also how about a badge if you complete all the GNC vids.  Maybe there is one already, not sure, either way will do them all.

  • Will the training plan calendar have data such as TSS, Fitness(CTL) Fatigue(ATL), Form(TSB) such as trainingpeaks? What release forecast?

  • Hello everyone, quick update.  We are honestly building things as quickly as we can.  Getting software built with a good UI/UX is a really complex issue when you do it right.

Training Plans is in a good spot.  I wish we could have gone native on iOS, but that's just a ton of work so it's in web view form.  Beta testing and QC are almost complete and I'm expecting to turn Training Plans in three weeks.

No TSS, CTL, ATL, or TSB at the moment.  This is just version 1 of Training Plans.  Since Training Plans will be a pillar of our offering, we will be prioritizing it in an iterative process with V2, V3, etc.  We (Sports Scientists) also have other ideas behind those metrics you listed above since they do a very poor job of estimating fatigue and training load using HIIT style work.

AppleTV... This just can't get here fast enough.  Same thing with Android.  We should have an internal Alpha to work with next week.  I am really pressing our teams hard to get AppleTV out the door before ToS 2020.  AppleTV is just another complex beast when it comes to getting the UI/UX correct.  We could put something out there that was working by January, but I am afraid the UX/UI wouldn't be good enough.  So, we are constantly weighing UX/UI versus the demands of our customers for AppleTV.

ChromeOS and FireTV are possible, but we don't have the manpower to support it right now.  AppleTV and Android alone are going to significantly pull on resources along with figuring out how to keep supporting Training Plan iterations along with all other great things we want to integrate with Wahoo.

Long story short, we are going to keep hiring quality Developers so we can keep up with the demand we have from our consumer base.  We are also looking at a ton of more content in 2020.  Stay tuned!
