Heart Rate Coectivity

I'm using the free trial version of the software and I am considering continuing afterward with the paid version for a year. However, I'm struggling to get heart rate data. I have an Apple watch and a Garmin hrm strap but neither seems to be compatible with the sufferfest. I just bought assioma dual power meter pedals and really want to re-do my 4Dp test with more accurate power, cadence, and heart rate. If you where gonna get a heart monitor for the sufferfest which one would you get?

  • Hi Jordan, I'm so sorry that you're having trouble with this. The Apple Watch won't be able to connect to our app. The Garmin should connect to our app via ANT+ dongle on the desktop app but you would need an ANT+ to Bluetooth bridge to connect it to the iOS app. If you are looking for a Bluetooth HRM, I would highly recommend the Wahoo Tickr, mine has served me well for many years!

  • Also use a Wahoo Ticker here regularly (or sometimes the new Garmin Dual HRM (also transmits BT and ANT+).  Both work 100% when I'm connecting via Bluetooth to iOS or even in my case BT to Windows. And also when using ANT+ to a Windows PC

The older Garmin HRM straps, as Rebecca says, are ANT+ only. I have an old one of those and it's now effectively redundant as even my outdoor computer is BT, so I don't use the ANT+ stuff much
